Embarcadero Webinar: How Meaningful Use Impacts Healthcare Data Management Professionals

Embarcadero Technologies and healthcare IT expert Shahid Shah on Wednesday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m. EDT for an insightful one-hour webinar that explores the impact of Meaningful Use (MU) and the certification of electronic health record (EHR) systems on data management professionals.

To register for this free webinar, visit the registration site.

The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, created an opportunity to improve the performance of the nation’s health system through an unprecedented investment in health information technology. However, healthcare entities must implement 25 major MU requirements into their EHR systems to qualify for a piece of the billions of dollars in government incentive funds.

Healthcare architects, developers and DBAs developing information systems must be thoroughly familiar with MU to understand how the requirements will change their existing and future implementations. A recent survey of healthcare IT professionals conducted by Embarcadero shows that close to 60% are in the process of implementing an EHR system.

Webinar attendees will learn:
• An explanation of ARRA, HITECH, MU, and certification
• How technical personnel such as data architects, DBAs and developers will be affected by MU
• The best ways to determine the MU gaps that might be found in existing systems
• The types of additional expertise technical personnel may need to meet MU
• How quickly systems will need to be modified and deployed to adhere to MU rules

Registered webinar attendees will also receive a complimentary copy of Shahid Shah’s white paper, “How Meaningful Use Impacts Healthcare Data Management Professionals.”
